Our Mission

The British Body Piercing Association is committed to the promotion, advancement, health and safety, education and dissemination of information about Body Piercing. Its members have demonstrated their skills in both practical and theoretical examinations, have agreed to a code of ethics,practices and procedures and to uphold a minimum level of standards for safety, hygiene, sterilisation and duty of care.


The British Body Piercing Association has been established to:

(i) Undertake research into Body Piercing and publish the results of such research.

(ii) Promote conferences and lectures, also publish, print and circulate papers, periodicals, journals, books and other literary works concerning the practice of Body Piercing.

(iii) Undertake and promote any Charitable Trust.

(iv) Purchase, take on leases, exchange, hire or otherwise acquire any real or personal property which may be necessary for the promotion of the objects of the Association; also to take any gifts, subscriptions, securities, or any real or personal property, and to employ the same for all or any of the objects of the Association.

(v) Keep at all times all the income and property of the Association so as to be applied solely towards the promotion of the objects as stated.

(vi) Advance education in the field of Body Piercing; to establish, conduct, sponsor or assist in establishing, conducting and sponsoring courses of instruction, lectures, conferences and examinations; to establish, build, found, acquire, subsidise, equip, furnish, fit up and maintain or manage either alone or in conjunction with others, colleges or other institutes for the purpose of the Association; to provide for board, residence and accommodation of all or any of the students, or staff attached to any institute of learning for the time being carried on by the Association; to award, either alone or in conjunction with others, diplomas and other qualifications for the proficiency or achievement in studies in Body Piercing, and to make and maintain a register for the holders of such awards; to award either alone or in conjunction with others, fellowships, lectureships, scholarships, bursaries and monies for charitable purposes; to diffuse amongst the membership of the Association, public information of every description concerning the study and practice of Body Piercing.
